Anarchy was the order of the day, as teams from across Liverpool came together for a third year running in ‘It’s a Knock Out’ competition organised by LCVS | United Way on Sunday 4 September. Battling their way through a series of events, including the giant inflatables and water pools, each team took part to raise funds for their chosen charities at Mossley Hill Athletic Club.
More than £10,000 has been raised so far, and organisers are confident that this figure will increase. The event was won by Fostering Solutions who were raising funds for Claire House.
'It's a Knock out' gives people the chance to take part in a very different type of charity event. There was lots to see and do for those who came along to show their support, including a fun fair, lots of charity stalls and a barbeque.
Clare Beavan, Philanthropy Development Manager at LCVS, said: “Charities depend on their supporters, especially given the current economic climate, and are simply unable to operate without funding. We are very grateful to Medicash for their support of which the event would not have been possible. The aim of the event was to get people from all across the city together to support local groups in their fundraising efforts. The money raised will be a great boost for Liverpool’s voluntary sector.”
