True Vision has been commissioned by BBC3 to make a two-part documentary series. The two documentaries - one focused on girls, the other boys - aims to show the realities of life for teenagers (aged 15-19) that are not often heard – those at the ‘have not’ end of society, hit the hardest by each wave of cuts.
The documentary will be about and narrated by the teenagers. Each film will follow three or four different teenagers from different cities around the UK over six months. Dipping in and out of their lives over that period, the documentary will show the opportunities and difficulties they face when finances are tight.
True Vision is looking for young people in Liverpool who are:
- Teenagers, aged 15-19, who are from a family struggling to make ends meet.
- Energetic, resilient and good talkers.
True Vision has extensive experience of working with vulnerable young people, and have rigorous protocols, protection and after-care procedures in place. Any preliminary meetings and chats with young people will be informal there is no obligation to take part in the documentary.
