Cancer Research UK (CRUK) is the World's leading charity dedicated to fighting cancer through research. Cancer Research UK supports the work of more than 4,000 researchers, doctors and nurses throughout the UK, fighting cancer on all fronts. Every day, our researchers make cutting-edge discoveries in our labs, and our doctors and nurses pioneer new treatments with patients in hospitals. CRUK runs high-profile health awareness campaigns and provide clear information to help people understand more about cancer and the steps everyone can take to reduce their risk of developing the disease. CRUK also lobbies the government to make sure cancer stays at the top of the political agenda.
Cancer Research UK spends around £3m annually on research in Merseyside and Cheshire, most of which is carried out at the Liverpool Cancer Research UK Centre. In Liverpool, they specialise in research into pancreatic cancer, cancers of the head and neck, eye cancer and cancers of the blood.
CRUK would like to hear from local people in Liverpool about their views of the charity. We will be holding 2 Focus Group sessions at Liverpool Cancer Research UK in June, (address below) and would invite the following people to attend:
Tuesday 7 June, 2- 4pm Focus Group for people who support the charity already (you might donate monthly, volunteer for us, run Race for Life, shop in one of our stores etc)
Wednesday 8 June, 2- 4pm Focus Group for people who are not currently supporters of the charity
In particular, CRUK is interested to meet people who have had cancer, or who have supported someone who has or who has had cancer in the past.
If you are interested in coming along, or simply would like some more information, contact Emma Squibb on 07770 597 185 or e-mail emma.squibb@cancer.org.uk.
