An opportunity for all charities, voluntary groups, businesses or just groups of friends to raise funds for good causes.
This event aims to help voluntary groups and charities raise money for their valuable work. It is part of the LCVS | United Way work in helping the sector. Individuals and businesses take part in It’s a Knock Out to raise funds for a charity of their choice. The event also gives charities the opportunity to have a free stand to promote their work or even do a little fundraising activity. Last year was our second event and a huge amount of fun; this year is looking to be yet again even bigger!
Why support this event?
- Help local good causes raise money for their work. Last year the event raised nearly £20,000.
- Have fun whilst raising funds for charities - a great team-building opportunity for businesses.
- Great opportunity to promote charitable organisations or your business. Nearly 1,500 people attended the event in 2010.
- Over 40 businesses were involved last year with plans to double this in 2011.
- Over 300 charities and local good causes benefited from the event in 2010, it is hoped even more this year.
How to enter:
- The cost to enter a team is £250 (inclusive of VAT) per team. Funds raised in excess of the entry fee go to the team's nominated beneficiaries.
- Your team decided those to benefit – either voluntary organisation, charity, or a combination.
- Maximum 10 people per team. There is no age restriction but there is a minimum height requirement of 1 metre. Please note, for health and safety reasons teams cannot be mixed adults and children.
- Confirmation of entry for a team is required by Monday 29 August 2011. Your team's place will only be confirmed when full payment of £250 is received. The number of teams is limited to 30, so you need to get in quick!
On the day there will be plenty going on so invite friends, family and colleagues along for a fun day out. Entry is free and the entertainment includes a stage-style show as part of the It’s a Knock Out competition, fairground rides for children, charity stalls, tombola etc. Prize for "Best Dressed Team" awarded on the day.
