Climb the Welsh 14 Peaks!

Nugent Care seeks climbers for a fundraising adventure. Friday 24 June 2011 will be a date to remember as Nugent Care staff and supporters take to the hills to complete in one of Britain’s toughest climbing challenges, The welsh 14 Peaks.

Starting at Snowdon, the climb takes in Garnedd Ugain, Crib Goch, Elidir Fawr, Y-Garn, Glyder Fawr, Glyder Fach, Tryfan, Pe yr-Ole Wen, carnedd Dafydd, Yr Elen, Carnedd Llewelyn, Foel Grach, Garnedd Uchaf and Foel-Fras. This epic adventure covers 30 miles and the intrepid climbers will cover the distance in just 24 hours.

Nugent Care has limited places available to compete in this once of a lifetime challenge. The experience costs £500 to enter, 60% of which will go to Nugent Care and the very valuable cause of their Geel and Hitchen Court service for older people in the advanced stages of dementia.

Geel and Hitchen Court provides specialist dementia care for up to 24 service users. Each one receives twenty four hours Person Centred Care (PCC), specially designed to meet the needs of older people.

Nugent Care hopes that money raised from this challenge will provide the service users with a special courtyard garden area, where they can relax and enjoy their surroundings, making their final days more pleasurable. The courtyard would feature a water fountain, hanging baskets, floor planters, Astroturf and patio tables and chairs.
