Crisis is a national charity for single homeless people, dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change. Crisis Skylight is an award winning and accredited education, training and employment service that offers practical and creative workshops with formal learning opportunities, leading to qualifications and work.
Crisis offers Skylight services to homeless people in London, Newcastle, Birmingham and Edinburgh. This year we will extend our services to Merseyside and Oxford.
In Merseyside, Crisis hopes to:
- Support homeless and vulnerably housed adults to develop the skills and capabilities they need to find and keep a home, succeed in learning and build a career.
- Work with homeless and vulnerably housed adults to build their self-confidence, develop resilience and feel accepted in the community in which they live.
- Act as a strong and articulate advocate for homeless people across Merseyside, working with local authorities and homeless agencies to propose, develop and implement innovative solutions.
Crisis Skylight Merseyside will be operational in October 2011. Kate Farrell has been appointed as the Head of Skylight Merseyside, and will take up the new post in June 2011.
