Debt Advice
The confidential and impartial Money Advice Service is for people on a low income and/or on qualifying benefits (Income Support, Income-based JSA, Income-based ESA, Guaranteed Pensions Credit).
Local Solutions' supportive advisors can help with:
- Income Maximisation
- Budgeting Advice
- Rent/mortgage arrears
- Credit card/personal loan debts
- Representation at court hearings
- Help with bankruptcy applications
- Dealing with emergencies ie. bailiffs

Fuel Debt Advice Service
Working in partnership with British Gas Energy Trust, Local Solutions offers a Fuel Debt Advice Service which provides free information and support to people who may be suffering from fuel debt and hardship, or struggling to pay their fuel bills. The target group is British Gas customers, but information and advice is on offer to non British Gas customers.
The British Gas Energy Trust awards grants are awarded to help individuals and families that are in hardship or in debt with their fuel bills. The Local Solutions Fuel Debt Advice Team will support British Gas customers in making an application to the Trust for a grant. Customers of other fuel suppliers can also contact the team for advice on how to access grants.
