The Charity Commission has recently published the first part of its guidance for anyone interested in setting up a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and two model constitutions for forming CIO, ahead of the expected implementation.
This guidance has been published for individuals and groups to decide if the structure is right for them. However, the Commission has already indicated that changes are likely.
Implementation will be phased, with new organisations among the first to be able to register as CIO, and existing charitable companies being able to convert to CIO towards the end of the implementation period.
