Inquiry into Community Regeneration

The Communities and Local Government Committee is conducting an inquiry into regeneration. Back in February, the Committee issued a call for written evidence. A number of organisations responded to this, but the MPs on the Committee are particularly keen to hear from people and groups affected by regeneration and involved in projects ‘on the ground’. They’d like to hear about your experiences and views.

If you would like to share your views and experiences with the Committee, you might find it helpful to respond to the following questions:

  1. Have there been examples of successful regeneration in your area? What do you think contributed to the success?
  2. How do you think regeneration in your area could be done better in future?
  3. Tell us about the opportunities you’ve had to influence regeneration in your local area.
  4. Do you think enough is done to engage local people in regeneration projects? What can be done differently?

Further information about the inquiry can be found on the Committee’s website.

Please send your response in a Word document by 30 June 2011 by e-mail to clgev@parliament.uk, marked "Regeneration" in the email subject field. It would be helpful for Data Protection purposes for contact details not to be included in the text of submissions, but be included in the e-mail.

Your views are important. They will help the Committee to understand what it’s like to live through regeneration, and to make recommendations about how regeneration should be conducted in future.

You are encouraged to copy in Warren Escadale, Policy & Research Manager at Voluntary Sector North West (VSNW), at warren.escadale@vsnw.org.uk to any response, so he can collate regional evidence.
