The Liverpool Marathon will take place on Sunday 9th October 2011. 12,000 runners are expected to take part in the first marathon in the city for 20 years. A quarter of these places (3,000) have been set aside for charities.
Entries for standard runners opened on 17 January and almost 7,000 runners have signed up already. Once the maximum of 9,000 standard entries is reached they will close and runners will only be able to enter the race using a charity place.
A charity runner agrees to raise a fundraising target set by you (guideline figure of £500) and benefits from your support and encouragement as well as the warm support and enthusiasm they feel from the spectators on race day. Being a charity runner turns a great experience in to a life changing one – both for the runner and those they help with their fundraising.
