Local Authority Funding Cuts: Guidelines for Authorities
The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has recently launched a new consultation on draft ‘Best Value’ guidance. It sets out clear guidelines for local authorities who are considering cutting funding to local voluntary and community organisations. The guidance sets out the specific terms of engagement between the sector and local government and builds on the principles of the Compact.
The full consultation and details of how to reply are now on the DCLG website. All interested parties should answer the online survey before the closing date of Tuesday 14 June 2011.
