In February, Liverpool's Rape & Sexual Abuse (RASA) Centre received an email from Liverpool City Council stating that:
“As part of these budget proposal consultations I must inform you that it is proposed that from 1 April 2011 the grant of £60053 you currently receive will be reduced to £0. You may find that you receive funding from different parts of the organisation, this is the information as we understand it. If your financial allocation is any different please let us know as soon as possible.”
As a result, RASA in Liverpool finds their 2011/12 budget cut from £125,000 to £35,000.
