Adult Learners Week Awards recognise the achievements of individual learners who have changed their lives through learning.
Do you know a learner who has been out of work for years but through enrolling on your course developed personal skills and confidence and has now progressed into employment? Or do you know a learner who suffered with mental health issues and now supports other people suffering with mental ill health?
Sometimes knowing that someone has recognised the obstacles they have had to overcome just to attend a short course can give a learner that extra boost of confidence to continue with their learning. There are some amazing projects and groups in Merseyside that do amazing work in their community, supporting people and helping them change their lives through learning, but so many of these projects go unrecognised. Let’s stand up and be proud of our achievements! Nominate your organisation, project or group for an Inspiring Projects award and show everyone how much you have helped improve people’s lives.Last year 201 nominations came from the North West but only 20 of those were from Merseyside.
Every nominee receives a certificate for being nominated and the winners will receive learning vouchers between £200 and £1000 to fund further learning which will be presented during an awards ceremony in May 2012. The deadline for nominations is 5pm Friday 27 January. You can make your nomination online at www.alw.org.uk.
