An opportunity has arisen for older service users and carers of older people, living or working in the Liverpool area, to become members of the Older People Making it Happen Group. The group has been in existence since February 2010 and aims to refresh membership to bring further knowledge and influence to its role. Applications from under representative and minority groups are particularly welcomed.
The aim of the group is to ensure improvement in the quality of life for Older People in Liverpool and achieve the priorities outlined in key strategies for Older People.
The group is looking for people who are motivated and committed to moving forward the priorities and to ensure that the Group makes things happen for Older People in Liverpool. You should be able to communicate effectively with other people and be willing to attend meetings. The group meets six times a year (bi-monthly) and there are opportunities to join subgroups targeting specific work streams. Travel expenses are honoured for meetings.
