The Commissioner for Public Appointments, Sir David Normington, is currently seeking public views on a package of reforms to improve the process for making Ministerial appointments to the Boards of Public Bodies. This is particularly relevant to women and other under-represented groups who want to participate in public life, and reflects the Government's aspiration that by the end of the current Parliament (May 2015), women will comprise at least 50% of new such appointments.
The consultation closes on Wednesday 28 September 2011 and can be viewed online.
