RAISE Impact Report

LCVS | United Way member RAISE Benefits Advice Team has issued an Impact report of their work. RAISE is funded by Liverpool City Council’s Community Resources Unit to provide a home visit service for welfare benefits and debt advice to any Liverpool resident who cannot easily access an advice centre – such as those aged over 75, disabled people including those with mental health issues, carers, single parents and those who live in ethnic minority or otherwise isolated communities.

In the last three years RAISE has

  • visited over 900 people
  • helped them gain over £1 million in extra benefits
  • helped manage over £750,000 debts, including £20,000 written off.

The service was particularly targeted at disadvantaged groups, including:

  • 83% disabled
  • 19% ethnic minority
  • 32% over 60.
