The Reader Organisation Apprenticeship Opportunity

Looking for a chance to get started in life? Aged between 16-21? No degree or A-Levels? The Reader Organisation (TRO), with the support of The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation, would like to offer a three-year paid apprenticeship to a young person living in Wirral.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to:

  • Build your confidence and self-esteem
  • Learn new skills and find out what you’re good at
  • Join a team of supportive people who are keen to help you become the person you’d like to be

The Reader Organisation runs Get Into Reading, a shared reading for pleasure programme, which has changed the lives of adults and children across Wirral, helping them to make friends, feel better about themselves and widen their horizons. The Reader Organisation would like you to help in their work with children in Seacombe primary schools. You don't have to be a big reader yourself. You can take time out each week to study in college if that’s something you’d like to do.

No previous experience is necessary, but the Reader Organisation does want someone who is:

  • Committed to staying with us for the full three years
  • Open-minded and willing to learn
  • Friendly and enjoys talking to people
  • Serious about developing as a person

Interested? Want to find out more? Come for an informal chat at our drop-in afternoon on Friday 29 July, 2pm-5pm, at the Lauries Community Centre, 142 Claughton Road, Birkenhead, CH41 6EY. Alternatively, contact Kate on 07973 247707 or e-mail katemcdonnell@thereader.org.uk.

Looking forward to meeting you!
