The Whitechapel Centre Vacancies

Based in Everton, The Whitechapel Centre is a voluntary organisation providing services which seek to improve the quality of life of people who are homeless and / or have additional support needs. Their vision is to create a holistic and comprehensive web of provision structured to complement individual progress and provide people with the opportunity to change their lives.

The Whitechapel Centre currently has two fixed term vacancies within their Enablement and Supported Housing Services. Both posts have been funded until 31 March 2011 in the first instance:

Enablement Centre Manager
£24,646 - £28,636 pa
37.5 hrs per week

Responsible for the day to day running of our busy Enablement Centre, you will lead a high performing team in delivering a range of services including: Open Access Drop In, weekdays from 8am; Activity and Structured Learning sessions and One to One support planning and resettlement services. You will also be instrumental in the provision of other Centre-based services such as health and treatment surgeries, JET (Jobs, Employment, Training) advice and Housing and Welfare Rights services.

With a background in a related homelessness, housing or support setting, you will have a proven track record of delivering multifaceted services to service users having a wide range of differing needs.

This is a demanding role which will suit an experienced manager with first class planning and organisational skills, who can provide strong and directed leadership, maintaining high levels of personal credibility and ensuring decisions are made quickly and implemented efficiently.

Floating Support / Supported Housing Worker
£19,126 - £22,221 pa
37.5 hrs per week

Working within the Liverpool area, as part of our Harm Reduction / Dual Diagnosis team, you will provide floating support services for people aged 16 or over who are in housing need. With experience of working in a homelessness, housing or support setting, you will have first class assessment and support planning skills, a good working knowledge of local support and treatment agencies, welfare rights and related legislation and the energy and drive required to combine these to provide first class supported housing services which help people move on with their lives and achieve their potential.

Short term Floating Support / Supported Housing Workers
The Whitechapel Centre also hopes to be able to offer a number of short term opportunities within their Supported Housing teams to provide cover for staff who are on secondment. Cover will be for approximately six weeks commencing end of June/early July.
