The National Council for Palliative Care has launched two projects.
1. Writing competition: Final chapters Talking and reading about other people’s childhoods, sadness, happiness and aspirations can help us to cope with our own ups and downs, but shared experience is seldom there to support us when our life is nearing its end or when people close to us are dying. This is why the Dying Matters Coalition is running a new creative writing competition about dying, death and bereavement.
Prizes 1st: £200; 2nd: £100; 3rd: £50; plus highly commended certificates.
Winners will be announced during Dying Matters Awareness Week, 14-20 May 2012.

2. Photographic project: Small actions – big impact This photography project will capture the small things that have made a big difference in end of life care. Participants will work closely with experienced documentary and portrait photographer Nadia Bettega. If you have an example that you’d like to share, contact Nadia to share your ideas nadia@nadiabettega.com or 07803 038534.
Photographs will be exhibited during Dying Matters week, 14-20 May 2012.
