From 25/01/2012 17:00:00
To 25/01/2012 19:00:00
Wednesday 25 January 2012, 5 - 7pm - 68 Hope Street, Liverpool, L1 9BZ.
This seminar is the 7th instalment of the CCSE Critical Research Seminar Series. The seminar reports back on the research mapping service provision and the role of NGO's in meeting the needs of the elderly in Nepal, conducted over the past year by Dr Sara Parker & Dr Bijan Pant in conjunction with Nepal School of Social Work (NSSW) in Kathmandu.
The funds have enabled a team of staff and students in Nepal to undertake a range of research activities exploring the needs of an aging population in Nepal and questions how these needs can be met. Insight is provided into the services on offer in Nepal and the gaps that exist in both policy and service provision. The research that has been conducted has brought together a range of key actors in this field and has led to the establishment of the Third Age Concern Group in Nepal to ensure that the needs of an aging population are not ignored within the context of Nepal.
Posters produced by NSSW staff and students will be on display in the student zone before the event from 4.30 pm onwards.
Attendance is free and no registration is required.
