You may already have seen the information about a special round of our Community Impact Fund inspired by the Great Get-Together, organised earlier this year by the family of the late MP Jo Cox. The good news is that we have decided to extend the programme on a rolling basis to allow more organisations to participate.
As Jo’s family and friends explained: “A get-together is any gathering of neighbours, friends and those in our communities to celebrate what we have in common. We hope it provides a reason to reach out to those you might not otherwise meet, and by building new relationships, create stronger communities.”
We want to fund projects that bring together people within communities from different backgrounds, of different ages and with different outlooks, to increase mutual understanding and to help people work together to improve their community. We will support either one-off events, or a series of events. The maximum amount an organisation can apply for is £1,000 but we expect most applications to be in the region of £500 – £750.
We will be reviewing applications and making awards on a month by month basis until further notice, so please, if you have plans for an event that fits the criteria, send us your applications!
The next scheduled review date for applications is Monday 11 December 2017.
