LCVS Buys Casino HQ
Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) has purchased Stanley House in Liverpool for around £5m.
The 42,000 sq ft building on Dale Street has been bought from casino operator Genting Stanley and will provide a home for a number of Liverpool-based charities at below-market rent.
Many of our local charities and voluntary groups are paying commercial rents, which have risen steeply with Liverpool’s regeneration and there is a risk they will have to move out of the city centre to save on costs. We need them to stay in the city centre and this development helps by providing affordable rents and shared office services.
During the autumn major works will be carried out to ensure the whole building is DDA compliant, with LCVS moving its base from Castle Street to its new home in November.
LCVS is grateful to the team of local professionals who have
advised us: lawyers Hill Dickinson, surveyors, and corporate property adviser C B Richard Ellis, accountants Baker Tilly and The Co-operative Bank for the mortgage.
Mason Owen is now managing the property for LCVS. A number of major voluntary organisations have already indicated to LCVS they want to occupy space in Stanley House when it becomes available.
