The special round of our Community Impact Fund is inspired by the Great Get-Together, organised earlier this year by the family of the late MP Jo Cox.
As Jo’s family and friends explained: “A get-together is any gathering of neighbours, friends and those in our communities to celebrate what we have in common. We hope it provides a reason to reach out to those you might not otherwise meet, and by building new relationships, create stronger communities.”
We want to fund projects that bring together people within communities from different backgrounds, of different ages and with different outlooks, to increase mutual understanding and to help people work together to improve their community. We will support either one-off events, or a series of events, as long as they take place by December 2017. The maximum amount an organisation can apply for is £1,000 but we expect most applications to be in the region of £500 – £750.
