The workshops will show you how to:
- Create your own professional covering letters for a variety of job applications
- Understand what you need to include in your CV and what can be left out
- Create your own CV that is:
- Professional
- Well laid out
- Easy to read
- Relevant for the job that you are applying for
- Understand the importance of having an “oral CV”
Entry requirements
- Students need to be able to read, write and understand spoken English in order for them to put together their own CV
- Students need to have completed a level 1 ICT course or have relevant experience of using a PC in order that you can type up your own CV
- Students need to bring with them full details of:
- All previous jobs (including dates, duties, salary and reason for leaving)
- Any qualifications gained, either at school or in further education
- Anyone who has agreed to act as a referee for the student
