Merseyside Society for Deaf People and Liverpool City Council delivering this training in partnership to raise awareness of disabilities and how to overcome the barriers encountered.
Two trainers, one deaf, one visually impaired. They will provide trainees with an understanding of:
- The importance of face to face communication with deaf people.
- The differences between deaf and hearing culture.
- Knowledge of how British Sign Language qualifications once gained could benefit any future involvement within the deaf community.
- Visual impairment and its effects, both psychological and functional.
