How to Engage with and Influence Parliament

Facilitated by Sefton CVS, this two-day training course has been developed to give local people in Sefton the skills, knowledge and confidence to create real change within their own communities.

The programme will explore the following areas:

  • Overview of parliament and government
  • How to engage and influence effectively at national and local levels
  • Promoting your services through campaigning
  • Understanding how your priorities fit with local and national priorities
  • Planning your campaign
  • Campaigning through social media

The course will also include a question and answer session with a local MP.

The programme is open to people living in these postcodes: L22, L30, L20, L21 and PR8. There may be places available for people outside these areas; contact Sefton CVS for more details.

Priority will be given to people who are:

  • Currently unemployed or on low income
  • New to learning as adults
  • Lone parents or carers
  • People with low or no qualifications
