Teach Others is a free two-day training course to become a financial capability trainer, aimed at staff working in a non-profit organisation.
The course provides the skills and methods needed to become a proficient trainer in financial capability, learning how to deliver effectively the financial capability knowledge gained from previous experience and/or the Teach Me course. This course is not suitable for those who already hold a teaching qualification.
You will gain:
- A toolkit of training skills and methods with which to plan and deliver a session in financial capability
- Confidence to deliver short programmes/ workshops to a variety of learner groups
- A nationally recognised OCN qualification (Level 3)
The dates for the Teach Others course are Wednesday 7 March (Day 1) and Wednesday 21 March (Day 2), 9am – 5pm. The course is delivered by the National Skills Academy.
The National Skills Academy also delivers Teach Me, an online course in financial capability. It is a 30-hour interactive online course covering a series of financial topics, to be completed within a period of two months.
You will gain:
- Detailed understanding of key financial capability topics, including how financial products work, the concept of financial exclusion, and the structure of the Adult Financial Capability Framework (AFCaF)
- Knowledge of where to access financial information, advice, guidance and support in relation to financial products and services
- A nationally recognised OCN qualification (Level 3)
Registrations to begin the online financial capability training course Teach Me will close at the end of March 2012.
