Recruiting volunteers is very different from recruiting paid staff. This workshop will assist you in identifying appropriate strategies to attract the right people to fill your volunteering roles and to devise suitable recruitment and selection processes.
You will :
• Explore why people volunteer
• What attracts potential volunteers to particular organisations
• Describe the sources, targets and options for recruiting
• Look at a range of ways to recruit and select volunteers, from the more traditional through to use of new media and ICT
• Learn how to apply marketing principles to your volunteer recruitment
• Be able to describe fair selection criteria, interview procedures and assessments
• Identify ways of dealing with difficult issues that may arise and deal with them
This course is aimed at staff / volunteers responsible for recruiting and selecting volunteers
