Welcome. Thank you for your interest in joining us
For over a century, Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) has been an integral part of the fabric of our city. We work hard to improve the wellbeing of individuals and communities in Liverpool, through supporting and encouraging charitable giving and voluntary action and by bringing people, organisations and resources together.
We’re seeking capable, community minded people with voluntary sector experience, to serve on our board of trustees and help carry the organisation into an new phase of development.
An opportunity to create lasting, measurable change
Would you like to provide meaningful support to vulnerable and under-represented groups, while also developing and exercising your strategic management and governance skills? A role on the LCVS board provides opportunity to help us support, fund and advocate for frontline, grassroots organisations.
‘We wouldn’t be able to juggle everything we do if we didn’t have the support of LCVS. We’d be diverted away from delivering. Without LCVS we probably wouldn’t be here. During the coronavirus pandemic, LCVS has been our strength behind the scenes.’ Sharon Williams, Netherley Youth and Community Initiative
‘Without… LCVS we couldn’t have got through most of the [Covid-19 funding] applications as successfully as we did. Support from LCVS has been critical to helping us reach so many families.’ Jacqui Nasuh, Merseyside Domestic Violence Service
It’s an exciting time to join LCVS
We have a new CEO and a new strategy in place, that will enable us to support the voluntary sector in a changing, post-Covid landscape. Now we’re looking for new trustees and a new chair person.
The past 12 months has put the vital work of the voluntary, community and faith sector into the public spotlight. It’s also highlighted just how important infrastructure organisations like ours are to communities, and to the organisations that they support.
‘I don’t think anyone is in any doubt that the next 12 months will be tough but… as an organisation that’s able to advocate for our community you’ll be making such a difference and being really effective in ensuring that community organisations in the city continue to do the fantastic work that they’ve been doing.’ Clare White, CEO, LCVS
