21 June | Health & Wellbeing Organisations Network Meeting

Hosted by LCVS | 10 am – 12 pm | Wednesday 21 June 2023 | Online on Zoom

The Health & Wellbeing Organisations Network provides an effective forum for information sharing and strategic debate, regarding the diverse range of services and support provided by Liverpool VCF organisations.

Within the current climate, the forum has become more important than ever in supporting colleagues as they respond to local challenges. This quarterly meeting brings together VCFSE organisations to share information and seek collective solutions to issues that may be impacting effective service delivery.

News

 

New partnership to improve access to volunteering across the Liverpool City Region, launches website

A new volunteering website across the Liverpool City Region will link organisations looking for volunteers with people who want to help their local communities. LCVS and the Liverpool City Region’s Volunteer Centres who work across Halton, St Helens, Knowsley, Sefton and Wirral have partnered together so that organisations across the area can collaborate, share volunteers, and promote various volunteering opportunities, significantly amplifying the region’s community impact. Funding

 

Youth and Play Grant | £14k Available

Applications are being sought from not-for-profit youth and play organisations across the city to deliver senior youth and play provision (13-18 years) in the Norris Green area. The youth provision must comprise of one or a mixture of the following:

  • centre-based activities
  • detached youth work
  • outreach.

The total grant available is £14,000. Read more

 

Breathe Better Air Community Fund

The Breathe Better Air Community Fund is provided as a partnership between Community Foundation for Merseyside, UK Community Foundation and the Clean Air Fund (CAF).

How much is available: The maximum grant available is £5,000.

Who can apply: Voluntary or community groups with a governing document, constitution or set of rules in the group’s name. Read more

 

Merseyside Police | Community Cashback Fund

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and Chief Constable have developed a scheme, which is designed to make funding accessible for grass root community projects that aim to support crime prevention initiatives or promote diversionary activities. Groups can apply for up to a maximum of £5000. Read more

 

Postcode Neighbourhood Trust Grants

Postcode Neighbourhood Trust supports smaller charities and good causes in the north of England to make a difference to their community for the benefit of people and planet.

Funding rounds are often oversubscribed, meaning it is not always possible to fund all high scoring applications. To support decision making, priority may be given to charities and good causes which meet some or all of the following criteria which can be read here

 

BBC Children in Need – Core Costs Funding Stream

BBC Children in Need’s Core Costs support essential organisational and administrative spending. These are the key expenses required to keep your organisation running. Their Core Costs funding can be spent on your organisation’s central day-to-day operations. Read more

 

BBC Children in Need – Project Costs Funding Stream

BBC Children in Need's Project Costs Funding Stream support the aims and delivery of a specific piece of work. This work will usually be time-limited, and based on a defined set of activities.

Project Costs is for charities and not-for-profit organisations. Applicants to this programme can apply for grants for up to three years. They aim to give quicker decisions for grants of £15,000 or less per year. Read more

 

Forrester Family Trust Grants

The Forrester Family Trust have been helping small charities work towards a just and equitable society since 1986. Each year, they award grants across four categories. The "Smaller Grants" category and the Grant Theme category have upcoming deadlines in 2023. The Grant Theme category' s current theme is "Immediate Needs as a Result of the Cost of Living Crisis". Read more

 

Gilead UK and Ireland Fellowship and Medical Grants Programme

The Gilead Fellowship and Medical Grants Programme supports local innovation and best practices in caring for people living with: HIV, Cancer, Invasive fungal disease & Viral hepatitis.

Since 2008, the programme has funded nearly 350 projects, leaving an important legacy in these areas. Applications are invited from healthcare and third sector organisations who are seeking funding for a project that aligns with the goals of the programme. Read more

22 July | TechUP Women

Are you female or nonbinary and looking for a career in IT/Tech but don’t know where to start? Durham University and Catch22 will be delivering 30 places for their free and accredited online course. It will provide learners with the knowledge and skills they need to start a career in the tech sector. Learn more

 

2023 | WHISC | Women’s Health Training Course in Health Care Practice

This course provides information and opportunities to develop knowledge around women's health issues. Women are given the chance to develop skills in a relaxed and informal setting, through group discussion and completion of a portfolio of evidence. Learn more

 

2023 | The Directions Project | Employability Programme

The Directions Project is a support programme focused on improving the employability of those currently not in work, it supports individuals by developing their confidence, providing them with relevant skills and aiding them in their job search. They can offer skills training, career coaching and job search assistance etc. all with the goal to get unemployed or economically inactive people into the workplace. Learn more

29 June | Trauma Informed Communities

The NIHR ARC NWC project (Community Research and Engagement Network – CoREN) would like to invite you to attend a FREE online lunchtime workshop on Trauma Informed Communities.

The event will explore projects being undertaken in Lancashire to support the development of trauma informed approaches and how these have been developed in collaboration with residents leading to stronger and more connected communities. Learn more

 

30 June | Torus Foundation | Employment and Skills Summer Showcase

Torus Foundation’s Employment and Skills Summer Showcase will see over 25 organisations gather in Toxteth, Liverpool. Join them to find out about the support available for those living across Liverpool, in addition to a range of work and training opportunities on offer. Chat to Liverpool-based employers and trainers to help reach your potential. The event is open to all Liverpool residents who are aged 16+, but please note some of the training available is only open to those aged 19+. Learn more

 

6 July | Social Action Network: Shape the Change

This event brings together people from across the Archdiocese and City Region who have an interest in social action and partnership working.

This partnership event is between Nugent, Justice and Peace Commission & Liverpool Archdiocese and brings together policy makers, workers and volunteers involved in social action, to interlink themes, make partnerships, and advocate for change. Learn more
