Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership brings together partners from across Merseyside with the shared aim of reducing serious violence, which has an impact upon our communities. The partnership is funded by the Home Office and uses a public health approach to tackling serious violence by identifying the root causes of violence and designing and implementing solutions to prevent people, and particularly young people, from having their lives impacted by violence – “we believe that all communities across Merseyside have the right to be free from violence in order to provide the best life chances for all”.
MVRP has staff from the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner, Public Health, Merseyside Local Authorities, Community Safety Partnerships, Education, Probation, Youth Justice, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service and Merseyside Police who work together towards the collective aims to reduce the effects of serious violence and improve life chances for all.
In recognition of the need to fully understand our serious violence problem on Merseyside we are investing in additional analytical resources to enable MVRP to continue to evolve and to effectively develop their public health approach to reducing serious violence.
