LCVS Health and Wellbeing Organisations Network (H&WON)

To join the network or for more info, please email hwon@lcvs.org.uk.

The next H&WON Meeting is on Wednesday 11 December 2024, click here to learn more and to book a place.

The Health and Wellbeing Organisations Network (H&WON) is the way in which LCVS brings together voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise sector partners to share information and seek collective solutions to issues which may be impacting on effective service delivery.

Originally called Welfare Organisations Committee (WOC) and established in 1951, it has been an important network for health, wellbeing and welfare organisations operating in the city. The network now has over 220 members.

The Health & Wellbeing Organisations Network (H&WON) group meets quarterly and provides an opportunity for locally based organisations to network, share information about their current campaigns and activities, discuss the issues which impact their service user groups and service delivery, and explore the benefits of working in partnership across the sector.

Attendees are welcome to request an opportunity to speak and present information/take questions from the group regarding any new activities/campaigns/consultations, etc they are launching – if you would like to book a slot on the agenda for upcoming meetings, please contact Steph or Becky (contact details below).

You can also send us information about your organisations new and upcoming activities and events, and we can promote these in our monthly H&WON newsletter. The newsletter contains information about activities, events, training and development opportunities, funding and grants programmes and consultation and engagement activities – please register to our mailing list to receive the newsletter if you don’t already receive it (details below).

We also encourage you to regularly check our Funding page for information about funding programmes which your organisation may be eligible to apply for.

If your organisation is interested in joining the network/signing up to receive the newsletter, or for more general information, please contact us at hwon@lcvs.org.uk.

Testimonials

Chinese Wellbeing says:

“The H&WON is a well-established platform for third sector organisations to share knowledge and information, discuss emerging issues, help problem solve and hear sector updates. We have been a member of the H&WON for many years. As a small charity, our membership and interaction with H&WON has been invaluable and has helped to inform our strategic thinking and service development for the benefit of the local Chinese community.”

Healthwatch Liverpool says:

“Being part of the H&WON allows Healthwatch Liverpool to stay in touch with colleagues in the wider sector and gives us an opportunity to share information about our current work focus, surveys etc with them, whilst learning about their own current priorities and the feedback they’re receiving from their service users about local health and social care services. Along with our valued Community Engagement Board this is a great way to triangulate information and work collaboratively when resources in the sector are so limited but the need is so great.”

Stick ‘n’ Step says:

“The H&WON is a great opportunity for organisations to meet, share good practice, research and knowledge about current issues/events in the region. It’s an opportunity to get to know like minded organisations and people and to create strong partnerships and networks, ensuring our work in the sector is current and appropriate and meets the needs of our communities.”
