The Directions Project is a European Union Social Fund funded programme. It is support programme focused on improving the employability of those currently not in work, it supports individuals by developing their confidence, providing them with relevant skills and aiding them in their job search. They can offer skills training, career coaching and job search assistance etc. all with the goal to get unemployed or economically inactive people into the workplace.
Initially, they will organise a meeting with an individual in which they will devise an Individual Learning Plan, focusing on the goals and interests of the individual alongside their qualifications and experience. After this they will continue to work with the individual, booking in catch-up sessions to continue their help and to evaluate the progress that has been made. They will hold these meetings in public places in Liverpool and can arrange them to be held closer to the individual if this is beneficial for them.
They currently aim to be running the Directions project until November 2023 this year.
Criteria for eligibility for Directions is as follows:
- Over the age of 18
- Un-employed or economically inactive
- In receipt of benefits
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Live in Liverpool City Region.
