Who is it for: Liverpool City Region Community and Voluntary Organisations.
The session will focus on exploring the opportunities for the community and voluntary sector to fulfil their purpose in the context of emerging new policy frameworks and ideas emanating from local and central government and the NHS. Concepts like “community power”, “neighbourhood working” and “relational practice” can feel nebulous and abstract, but in the session they will explore what they might mean in practice and how organisations might best position their work so that they can influence the agenda.
The session are run by Chris Naylor – Director at Inner Circle Consulting. Chris is an award-winning local government chief executive, with a strong track record of delivering better outcomes for people and place through high performing partnership approaches between councils, community and not for profit organisations. Chris oversaw Barking and Dagenham’s ground-breaking transformation programme that saw the coordination of council, community and voluntary services around the needs of the household. Generating a deep insight into the communities, family and individuals these organisations served, they developed a better understanding of the root causes of need, and were better placed to offer support to promote better outcomes.
