Everton Churches Generations Project – Children and Families Missional Worker

Hours per week: 24 hours ideally (negotiable term time working).
Reporting to: Project Lead/Clergy Lead.
Location: Everton.

The Diocese of Liverpool wants to see a step change in ministry among the Missing Generation (11-29 year olds), and has embarked on the Missing Generation Programme focussed in three areas of Liverpool and in the regional town of Wigan.

By the end of the Programme they plan to have a thriving schools ministry and three Resources Churches – churches that make disciples and grow at pace and multiply, specifically focusing on and attractional to the Missing Generation. St Georges and St Peter’s with St John Chrysostom will form one of these Resource Churches and the initial two year funding for the Operations Manager role is through this Missing Generation programme. The funding also includes the recruitment of further staff members focused on developing ministry to engage and disciple 11-29yr olds.

Job Summary

They are looking for a passionate Children and Families Missional Worker who can be part of an exciting project which seeks to create new disciples aged 11-18 engaging in worshipping communities across Everton. You will work with the leadership team at Everton Churches to implement and develop the strong mission and discipleship strategy for Children and families. Working with the Hub Manager and Clergy team to implement a range of activities within the community to support children and parents/carers as they journey and explore faith together.

You will also:

  • Facilitate, their Kids Matter parent nurturing programme, support the delivery of their special educational needs, (SEND) worship community and work with the clergy team to deliver school-based activities and assemblies
  • Work alongside youth work staff and design and develop a year 6 transition programme
  • Offer line management and supervision support to two part time youth workers
  • Engage with other community groups and organisations to support the delivery of community and engagement events. Reporting directly to the Hub Manager.
