Location: Hybrid working at: Vauxhall Law Centre office, Centre 63 (Kirkby), at home and at external locations across the North West.

Vauxhall Community Law and Information Centre provides access to justice on a range of social welfare issues. Established in 1973, they support sick and disabled people, those affected by the cut to Universal Credit including people working in the gig economy and on a zero hours contract.

Job Summary
The Project Officer will facilitate heritage skills training for a cohort of 12 young service users (aged 13 to 17) at Centre63, a popular community hub in the heart of Kirkby. Following a comprehensive participant-led research phase, they will work with the volunteers and a team of creatives/heritage experts to produce the project outputs listed above.
The chosen candidate will also be expected to oversee the delivery of an exciting programme of public events including reminiscence sessions, historical talks, output launches and exhibition tours. As well as VCLIC staff, the Project Officer will be expected to work closely with a network of project stakeholders at institutions such as Centre63, Knowsley Archives Service, Kirkby Library, the People’s History Museum, the Working Class Movement Library, the Museum of Liverpool, Knowsley Council and various freelance creatives.
Day to day management and support for the project will come from the VCLIC Development Officer, and the chosen candidate will be accountable to the VCLIC Senior Solicitor and a project Steering Committee. They will also be expected to liaise with an independent external evaluator, who will write a formal report on the overall success of the scheme at its conclusion.
