The Raise Up summit has been designed to re-energise the social mobility movement and they are calling on businesses and organisations to help them in supporting young people furthest from the job market.
The summit has an exciting agenda that will unfold over 2 sessions:
Session 1
This is a morning social mobility information session for employers to provoke thought and energise employers across the Region
- The team at Channel 4 will be presenting their Gen Z trust, truth and trends research
- Chasing the Stigma will shine a spotlight on the C4 research in relation to young people’s wellbeing
- Sarah Atkinson the CEO of the Social Mobility Foundation, HM Inspectorate for Police and Fire Sir Andy Cooke, Lynne Peabody CEO of the Ernest & Young Foundation and Nisa Summer CEO of the Social Mobility Commission will be taking part in their expert ‘social mobility’ panel alongside UK charity Movement to Work will be showcasing the power of work experience with a live call to action for work experience pledges
About Movement to Work: Movement to Work (MtW) helps employers deliver high-quality employability opportunities for young people aged 16-30 facing barriers to work. As a registered UK charity, they offer fully funded professional support to businesses interested in tackling youth unemployment. For over a decade, MTW have helped to deliver over 225,000 youth opportunities)
Session 2
This is lunch where employers will be joined by 300 young transforming the summit into a 600 strong intergenerational event, the afternoon will include career carousels, entrepreneur panels, careers insights along with an exciting keynote speaker to be announced at a later date.
Their in-house social mobility project (Thrive) will be hosting a pop up market where young people can access a range of services and employers will be invited for post networking drinks from 3:30pm.
