Liverpool Spirit Appeal | Messages from Recipients

After the incident which took place on Water Street during the Liverpool FC Parade on 26 May 2025 resulting in injuries to over 100 people, the Community Foundation for Merseyside, Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS), and Liverpool City Council launched the Liverpool Spirit Appeal to help those most affected.

We have raised £137,492 from 1041 supporters (as of Thursday 26 June 2025). LCVS is extremely grateful to all the people and organisations who contributed. Thank you.

From this funding, 46 gifts have been awarded to those affected so far, including those experiencing long hospital stays.

Here are some of the messages we received:

One recipient said:

“Thank you so much this is really appreciated and a great help for me, what an amazing service you are! God bless you all.”

Another recipient said:

“Thanks so much for your email and for the charitable gift. It’s absolutely amazing and I’m so, so grateful to all those who donated…”

Another person reflected:

“I’m very grateful for all that you have done, and continue to do, to help and support people who have suffered. Your work truly makes a difference.”

Another recipient added:

“This means so, so much and has made me emotional.”

LCVS is also currently exploring aligning the priorities of our future grant funding programmes towards organisations who are providing support in areas including emotional wellbeing and mental health, recognising the needs for those who may need support after such a traumatic incident
