£25,000 Micro-Commission Funding Available | Domestic abuse related suicide risk reduction service

Mersey Care and Liverpool Suicide Prevention Partnership is seeking applications from qualified providers to deliver a specialised service aimed at reducing suicide risk among individuals impacted by domestic abuse. This project will focus on developing skills and resources to address the significant link between domestic abuse and suicide in Liverpool.

Domestic abuse is a major contributing factor to suicide risk in Liverpool, with a notable proportion of suicides linked to domestic abuse. This project aims to develop and deliver targeted training and resources to professionals working with families exposed to domestic abuse, enhancing their ability to reduce suicide risk effectively.

Objectives

  • Develop and deliver specialised training for professionals such as social workers, paramedics, A&E staff, police, probation officers, and domestic abuse support services
  • Create a ‘train the trainer’ programme to build ongoing workforce capacity
  • Develop an online resource/toolkit to support suicide risk reduction efforts.

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in delivering domestic abuse and suicide prevention services
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-agency stakeholders
  • Commitment to providing ongoing support and supervision to trained professionals
  • Capacity to develop and maintain an online resource/toolkit.

The project will be funded to the value of £25,000, with a minimum delivery period of 12 months. The successful provider will be accountable to both Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and the Liverpool Suicide Prevention Strategic Partnership.
