Age Concern Liverpool & Sefton is a charity dedicated to protecting and promoting the wellbeing of people aged 50+. Established in 1928, they provide a range of direct services which make life better for local older people.

Do you have the skills and motivation to lead an established charity through the next level of excellence? Are you a people influencer who embraces a challenge?

If the answer to the above is yes, then we may have an exciting opportunity for you. Over the last couple of years, Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton has embarked on quite a journey. As a charity which focuses on supporting older people in the local community they have faced and overcome several challenges. As well as providing befriending, activities and support they also operate a specialist Nursing Home.

Over the last 12 months, ACLS has been led by a talented and motivated CEO. Circumstances now mean that she is moving on and whilst they are saddened by this, they are extremely grateful for everything that she has achieved during her time leading the charity including the development of a new three-year strategy. The board have decided to now offer this role on an interim basis to allow an opportunity to assess whether they can offer the best support to older people in the community in their current form or in partnerships. As a board, they firmly believe that ACLS has an exciting future, and they now need to find that exceptional person to help them achieve that.

They are looking for a high calibre candidate who will work with the board to ensure the sustained strategic direction and sustainability of the charity and help them define their future whether in their current form or in partnerships. They will also be responsible for overseeing efficient operations, as delivered by their fantastic Director of Operations. This includes responsibility for the financial planning and to act as its representative as appropriate within the City of Liverpool and the Northwest.

The Interim CEO will ensure that resources are allocated to priorities, monitoring performance, managing risk, and ensuring that the appropriate ways of working, processes and productivity tools are in place to help them deliver their goals to agreed budgets.
