Established in 1928 by Eleanor Rathbone, their charity was the first older adult focused charity in the world. Since their conception, Age Concern Liverpool & Sefton’s (ACLS) mission has been to protect and promote the well-being of people over 50 years of age in their area. With nearly 100 years’ experience working with older adults in Liverpool & Sefton, they are experts in understanding the needs of their community and delivering impactful services.

Their services include: befriending and re-ablement, a Mental Health Support Service, friendship services delivered by volunteers, an Activity Programme operating from their activity room and at locations across the city, The Hamlets, their 30-bedroom specialist nursing home for older adults with functional mental health needs, a telephone, online and drop-in service for any query or concern raised by an older person, relative, neighbour, professional or other VCSE partner and a free referral service to LJMU Legal Clinic for clients seeking legal support.

Job Summary

As a local charity of 96 years’ service, they are proud of their history. They offer a diverse range of support for residents of Liverpool and Sefton over the age of 50. Whether that be from project work, companionship or in their nursing home, they approach it with the same level of enthusiasm and commitment.

They are now very excited to announce that they have a vacancy for a Philanthropy Lead and are looking for that special person who can help raise essential funds to support the organisation. If this sounds like a challenge for you – read on!

As Philanthropy Lead you will play an instrumental role in raising essential funds to support the organisation’s pioneering role supporting Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton maximising income by engaging, managing, and inspiring funders by writing compelling and persuasive narrative to secure income from Trusts, Foundations, Corporations and Statutory Bodies for Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton for key projects and any newly identified projects.
