Age Concern Liverpool & Sefton – Head of Business Development, Fundraising and Communications

Contract: 2 years fixed term.
Term: Part-Time.
Salary: £35,000 pro-rata.
Hours per week: 17.5 hours.
Reporting to: The Chief Executive.
Location: The charity’s head office is currently in Anfield, Liverpool but it is anticipated that this role will involve a mix of remote working alongside some attendance at their offices and sites.

Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton have a long and proud history of supporting older people in Merseyside and is well known locally. Established in 1928 by Liverpool’s first female councillor, Eleanor Rathbone, it was the first committee in the country set up specifically for older people. Over the years, the charity has trialled many exciting, new initiatives to protect and promote the wellbeing of older people. The charity’s achievements were recognised in 2013 when it was awarded Freedom of the City by Liverpool City Council.

Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton currently have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Head of Business Development, Fundraising and Communications to work with their new Chief Executive to develop and drive their business development, fundraising and communications strategies. Key will be the development of new services, raising and diversifying their income to support older people in the community as well as building their profile as the go-to organisation for older people in their area.

They’re looking for an experienced fundraiser and communicator with a proven track record across income streams and raising the profile of an organisation. You’ll have the ability to think strategically about where the wins are likely to be both in the short-term and longer-term as well as delivering results on the ground.
