Alder Hey Children’s Charity – Grants Assistant

Term: Part-time.
Salary: £21,210 – £25,452 (pro rata £12,726 – £15,271).
Hours per week: 22.5 hours.
Reporting to: Alice Carey Grants Manager.
Location: Homeworking or office-based or a mix of the two (office is at Alder Hey, Liverpool).

Alder Hey Children’s Hospital is the busiest children’s hospital in the UK caring for over 330,000 young patients every year. Alder Hey is a Centre of Excellence for children with cancer, heart, spinal and brain disease and a National Centre for head and facial surgery, they are one of only four centres nationally to provide epilepsy surgery and one of two accredited major trauma units for children in the North West.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises funds to support the pioneering work at their brand new hospital, Alder Hey in the Park, and aims to improve the quality of life for not only the young people they see each year but through innovations and research into childhood diseases, the quality of life for children across the world.

This is a new and exciting role for an experienced administrator to support the grant-awarding and grant management processes within the Charity. Reporting to the Grants Manager, the post holder will offer administrative support to facilitate effective grantmaking and grant management, working alongside colleagues within Alder Hey Children’s Charity and Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.

This role will also support the Grants Manager by undertaking administrative tasks linked to Alder Hey Children’s Charity’s commitments as regional Lead Charity for NHS Charities Together Stage 2 Funding Programme for the next two years. Duties will be wide and varied including preparing and proofreading documentation, maintaining accurate records, data input and analysis, diary management and minute taking.
