Big Lottery Fund Vacancy: Head of Regional Funding North West

Salary: £42,000 – £49,000
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Manchester

Join the Big Lottery Fund in this key leadership role and enable people to do great things. As a leader at the Fund you will play a pivotal role in developing three new funding products to back great ideas by people and communities.

The Big Lottery Fund is the largest community funder in the UK. Last year, it distributed more than £650 million to over 12,000 projects, supporting health, educational, environmental and charitable activities. The Fund is making changes to how it works in England in order to serve people and communities more effectively. The aim is to work with people flexibly and on their terms, working closer to communities, improving ways of engaging with communities digitally, and building new partnerships with other funders, charities and individuals.

This is a newly created role which will deliver strategic and operational excellence within the North West, working collaboratively with the central support teams to maximise the impact of funding, and ensuring learning from the region is incorporated in decision making. A key member of the England directorate leadership team overseeing the awarding of approximately £20m per annum, you will lead a team of largely remotely-based, mobile team members in the region. In addition, you will be an active and engaging leader across England and the wider Fund. Representing the Fund at a senior level you will proactively engage with senior level internal and external stakeholders, building and nurturing relationships.

You are passionate about making a difference through Big Lottery funding, with a deep understanding of the communities it serves. You will have significant experience of implementing new products using a user led service design approach. You will also have experience of building and leading teams and driving a high performance culture through your ability to coach, inspire, and empower people.

You will have demonstrable evidence of implementing new products so that they realise an ambitious vision, and of making improvements to products post-launch in line with feedback and insights from customers and frontline staff. Your ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with a range of senior level internal and external stakeholders will be second to none, and you will be a confident communicator, comfortable in all environments.

Interviews and Presentation will be held on 31 October 2017.
