Steps to Freedom is regional charity based in Liverpool providing counselling dedicated to psychotherapy that honours clients as individuals. The service is strength-based, working with clients at their own pace, improving the mental and physical well-being of women and men survivors of childhood sexual exploitation.
The charity is looking for dynamic, committed, and pro-active individuals from a wide and diverse backgrounds to join the Board and help us continue with our success and expansion. As a trustee, you will ensure that the charity remains focused on its aims and objectives by giving strategic direction, fresh thinking, overall policy-making, and with a keen eye on planning and development. This is an excellent opportunity to share and expand your skills for a very worthwhile cause, adding value to the work of the Board.
You don’t need to have trustee experience, although knowledge of the voluntary sector would be a distinct advantage, as would an interest in counselling services. Applications are particularly welcome from those who have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Human Resources
- Management
- Project management
- Finance
- Marketing and communications
- Fundraising
Trustees would be required to:
- Attend up to four meetings a year including and an annual planning day
- Get involved in supporting our fixed term projects
- Contribute advice and support on an ad hoc basis
- Attend events
All travel and out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
