Capacity Vacancy: Community Engagement Officer

 

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

There are 1,368 Voluntary and Community organisations in the Liverpool City Region. A core belief of Capacity is that these organisations have the ability to unlock social and community capital. The Community Engagement Officer will support these organisations in this endeavour building on and maintaining the meaningful relationships Capacity has already established in the Liverpool City Region.

It is crucial that the successful candidate recognises organisations who want to grow and develop, and identifies opportunities for commercial success. The ability to sensitively introduce new concepts is pivotal in this role as re-imagining service models is central to Capacity’s strategic ideals.

The Community Engagement Officer will provide a link between organisations and Capacity establishing themselves as an advisor and mentor. In order to fully realise the potential of Capacity, success in this area is critical.

The candidate will have a thorough understanding of Capacity’s core services with a particular focus on how incorporating meaningful engagement in the Design process can improve the outcomes for communities, organisations and Commissioners.

Capacity recognises that the Voluntary and Community sector contains a wealth of untapped knowledge surrounding the innovation of public services. The Community Engagement Officer will play an essential role in connecting with organisations to understand how we can maximise the potential of public services. Capacity endeavours to give a voice to service users and workers in this sector so that we can learn from their experiences and use their intelligence to provide the best outcomes.

The successful candidate will be engaging and enthusiastic with a strong sense of social justice. They will be required to engage with a diverse range of voluntary and community organisations across the Liverpool City Region. Additional responsibilities will include delivering workshops, organising partnership events and co-ordinating one-to-one sessions.
