Capoeira for All CiC Vacancy: Projects Assistant

Salary: £10,800 p.a.

Hours: 21 hours a week, 3 days a week. Some flexibility may be required.

Contract: 1 year fixed term, with a 6 month review

The part-time Projects Assistant position in Capoeira for All is an exciting opportunity for someone to work as part of a rapidly growing sport-culture-arts-education organisation. Capoeira is an exciting and dynamic Afro-Brazilian art-form that combines elements of dance, martial arts, music, and play.

At the heart of the organisation is the belief and understanding that the practice of Capoeira and its ethos and values is a powerful tool for education, learning and development. The aim is to reach as many people as possible, taking the practice to places where the arts, culture, creativity and sport is least expected, and harnessing its transformative power for positive social change. All members of the team bring a unique approach to how the Capoeira for All CiC achieves its mission, and the organisation is looking for the right person to bring their energy, enthusiasm and passion to help it grow, develop and transform even more lives.

The main purpose of this post is to:

  • Take charge of general and project specific administration tasks, supporting managers and staff across a range of projects
  • Assist the organisation managers and support them to create balance of delivery across a range of projects, fundraising activities and client development strategies
  • Develop a familiarity with Capoeira for All’s community business model and processes of working, including its diverse range of projects, income streams and ways of working

Capoeira for All is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company established to explore and develop how the arts, in particular Capoeira, can significantly enrich people’s lives. It is a local, Merseyside-based organisation ran by highly qualified staff with extensive experience in the arts, education and over 20 years of Capoeira practice.
