Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance is partnering with Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Liverpool GP practices to set up a clinic to check eligible people in specific areas of Liverpool who have symptoms of head and neck cancer.
During February, the Head & Neck Centre at Aintree Hospital in partnership with the Cheshire & Merseyside Cancer Alliance, are providing direct access, via a dedicated phone line for patients who:
- Live in L5, L6 or L7 post code areas
- Are 45 or over
- Smoke or have smoked in the past
- Have had a hoarse voice for three weeks or more
- Have a neck lump that can be felt for three weeks or more, or both
Patients will be assessed over the phone by the team at Aintree Hospital and if necessary, will be invited in for a check-up.
