Advice Session Supervisor

Salary: £22,500 per annum (or pro-rata for part-time position)
1 Post – 35 hours per week
1 Post – 17.5 hours per week

Citizens Advice Liverpool is looking for a motivational Advice Session Supervisor to take a key role in supervising the front-line advice services and supporting volunteers. Developing a supportive and trusting relationship with volunteer advisers, form-fillers and administrators, you’ll help them develop their skills and abilities while ensuring the services they provide to the public are of the highest quality.

Able to operate from any of the Citizens Advice sites across the city, you’ll oversee all aspects of the gateway and generalist advice services and information contact points; from ensuring rotas are well-staffed to streamlining referrals on to the specialist services. You’ll be comfortable with supervising advice given through a range of channels, including by phone and digitally. You’ll work closely with the Volunteer Recruitment and Training Manager to select and induct new volunteers.

You are flexible, innovative and interested in joining an organisation that’s exploring new ways of delivering advice in a context of very high demand.

Advice Support Worker – Advice on Prescription Project

Salary: £19,000 p.a. pro rata, £8,685 actual
Hours: 16 per week

Are you organised and able to take and record detailed information by phone? Are you able to quickly identify the essence of someone’s problem and clearly summarise it in writing? Do you relate to clients and professionals from diverse backgrounds in a way that ensures they receive a high level of service?

Liverpool GPs refer patients for assistance from the Advice on Prescription advisers on a range of non-medical issues including housing, homelessness, job loss, complex debts, fuel poverty and welfare benefits. The service offers a practical treatment option for GPs and currently provides 50 advice clinics in Liverpool health settings every week; receiving 730 referrals per month.

Citizens Advice Liverpool is looking for someone to join a busy office-based team to provide practical support to the outreach advisers and encourage referrals to the service from Health Centre staff.

Specialist Welfare Caseworker- Advice on Prescription Project

Salary £23,000 p.a. pro rata, £11,500 actual
Hours: 17.5 per week

Do you have a detailed knowledge of the benefits system? Are you able to apply the law to clients’ real-life problems? Do you relate to people from diverse backgrounds in a way that ensures they receive a high level of service?

The service offers a practical treatment option for GPs and currently provides 50 advice clinics in Liverpool health settings every week; receiving 730 referrals per month.

Citizens Advice Liverpool is looking for someone to join our busy team to undertake casework on behalf of clients. You will maximise the incomes of the most vulnerable and in particular, provide advice, support and representation in mandatory reconsideration and appeal processes. You’ll also provide technical support to generalist advice colleagues who work from Health Centres across Liverpool.

Digital and Budgeting Coach

Salary: £22,000 per annum
Hours: 35 per week
Contract: Fixed-term to 31 March 2019

The move to Universal Credit is likely to be a huge challenge for many benefit claimants. If you share our desire to help smooth their transition, help avoid unnecessary hardship and upskill them for future online transactions then Citizens Advice Liverpool is keen to hear from you.

Liverpool City Council have provided Citizens Advice Liverpool additional resources this year to provide assisted digital support and personal budgeting assistance to clients claiming this benefit. Your role will be to provide these services and also develop and co-ordinate a small team of volunteers to also provide the service. Taking referrals and also working alongside the open-door advice drop-in services to identify new clients; you’ll be responsible for ensuring the organisation assists the number of people it has committed to help over the year.

You’ll also lead on generating referrals for the Enterprise Hub project, run in partnership with the Women’s Organisation and other agencies.
