Citizens Advice Liverpool depends on volunteers to deliver the service. Do you have the skills and experience to attract new recruits and motivate the workforce, with the vision to understand what new roles needed to develop to meet future advice needs? Can you use your experience of supervising local Citizens Advice service delivery to develop a Volunteering Strategy, whilst ensuring recruitment processes are creative, streamlined and accessible and contribute to diversifying the volunteer base?
Citizens Advice Liverpool has been formed following the merger of a number of individual local Citizens Advice services across the City. The organisation is looking for a dynamic individual to take responsibility for volunteers’ experience across the outlets. Citizens Advice Liverpool offers face-to-face advice from the main offices, but is also looking to greatly expand outreach locations and the phone and digital offer. The use of WhatsApp and Snapchat have been showcased at the last Citizens Advice national conference. You will also lead on ensuring paid staff have training plans and from these develop the overall Training and Development Plan.
You need to be able to meet Citizens Advice competence requirements for an Advice Session Supervisor and generalist adviser, as on occasion you will need to manage the practicalities of advice sessions. Among other things, you will also need to have:
- Experience of producing and delivering training and planning and implementing training programmes
- Experience of managing volunteering issues and a commitment to the value of volunteering
- Knowledge of current advice guidelines and legislation including the Citizens Advice Performance Quality Framework
- Ability to motivate staff or volunteers and improve performance
